April Glover
FOUNDER + PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
As a design-led, client-focused professional, I listen deeply to my clients to ensure each project is a seamless blend of beauty and thoughtful functionality.
With over 20 years of experience working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, I’ve developed a unique perspective on how spaces can be transformed. As a former Production Designer and Set Decorator, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on a wide range of projects with incredibly talented teams, learning invaluable skills that only hands-on experience can provide.
My work includes serving as a Set Decorator on TLC’s Town Hall and Real Simple Real Life, as well as a Design Producer on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. I was later tapped to host FYI Network’s internationally broadcast series, Unlivable, where we helped homeowners find overlooked properties in Los Angeles and transform them into homes people truly wanted to live in.
These experiences shaped not only my technical understanding of design, but my ability to confidently walk into any space and instantly envision its potential.
Growing up in a small town in rural Alabama, where homes were layered over time—filled with pieces that held meaning, history, and memory—still deeply influences my work today. It’s where my love of mixing antiques, heirlooms, and hand-crafted pieces into each design truly began.
I’m drawn to spaces that feel collected, not decorated.
Layered, but livable.
Thoughtful, not overdone.
Because in the end, design isn’t just about how a space looks.
It’s about how it lives.
Folk + Lore Living was built from that foundation—
a belief that your home should reflect your story in a way that feels natural and personal. Not just styled, but shaped around the way you live.
My work often centers around helping clients see the potential in a home—whether they’re preparing to sell, considering a purchase, or refining a space over time. I focus on how a home functions, how it flows, and how it supports daily life, guiding thoughtful decisions that bring clarity, warmth, and a sense of ease—creating that quiet, comforting sense of nostalgia.
